Editorial 1/2019

Dear readers,

we are presenting you the first issue of the year 2019 of the Journal of Economic Spectrum.

Again, we tried to select contributions to this issue to be diverse of the topics and at the same time to maintain the desired quality which is so important to us.

The first issue of the year 2019 of the journal contains five articles.

Authors Bobovník and Kotuľak focused on the issue of ensuring food security and food self-sufficiency as a public service from the perspective of central state administration, where they highlight the primary role of the agro-food sector.

Author Loučanová elaborated the topic „PERCEPTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION IN SLOVAKIA” and focused on evaluation of perception of environmental innovations in Slovakia using the Kano model. The conclusions of the article show that the level of perception of these innovations in Slovakia is very low.

Author Pokorný chose for his article the issue of financial sustainability of pension systems and specifically deals with implicit pension debt (IPD), which arose from a synthesis of the wealth of social security. The author presents the genesis of IPD as a tool by which the amount of future pension liabilities to public funds can be measured.

Another article by Šafrová focuses on Sharing Economy. In her paper, the author gives an overview of the development of the shared economy, including an outline of future development. The topic is very actual, not only because of the impact of the development of information technologies, but also due to other aspects such as more efficient use of resources, etc.

An article by Yasinovská and Smolinske entitled “Financial mechanisms for regulation of small business” explains the financial mechanisms for regulation of small businesses. In the application part are analyzed the peculiarities of business development in developed countries and Ukraine.

We wish you pleasant reading and beautiful days
